The GMS Difference

In The Classroom

One of the first things you notice in our environment is respect, freedom and trust. Our teachers always respect the children and trust them with the choices they make. Even if they don’t yield desired results, their confidence, love of learning and curiosity carries them through to try again. Our goal for the children is not to get a perfect result, instead, practice with the process.

Through the freedom and support to question, the trust of the guide, and process over product, Montessori students become critical thinkers, confident self-directed confident learners, and helpful community members.

In Nature

It is known that animals, plants, water and other aspects of the natural world delight children, develop curiosity and draw them in as learners. At GMS children are often outdoors working on self-guided projects. The rocks, logs, and sand create unstructured play and learning as opposed to conventional play equipment. Such an environment provides an opportunity for creative problem solving skills.

When you choose GMS, you are joining a close community of curious children, loving teachers and involved parents.

We invite you to visit our school and become part of our family.

” There must be provision for the child to have contact with nature; to understand and appreciate the order, the harmony and the beauty in nature.. That the child may better understand and participate in the marvelous things which civilization creates”.
- Maria Montessori

Our Mission

We believe that children thrive in an environment which values their own uniqueness, while providing support and opportunities to grow emotionally, socially and creatively. By building on each child’s strengths, interests and curiosities, we guide each child to explore the world around them as well as develop new abilities and form close relationships.
