Transition Program
Transition Program 18 Months to 3 Years Old
Our Transition Program, for children 18 months to 3 years, gently introduces Montessori principles while supporting the whole child. The classroom is scaled for toddlers: low shelves, small tables, and open floor space that invites movement and choice. Children select purposeful activities that build independence, concentration, and care of self. Practical Life materials strengthen hand control, pouring, spooning, dressing frames, and tidying. Sensorial work refines touch, sight, sound, and order through matching, sorting, and grading. Early Language grows through rich vocabulary, songs, stories, and naming cards; pre-writing begins with hand-strengthening and the three-finger grasp. Early Math appears in counting, one-to-one correspondence, quantity, shapes, and simple patterns. Daily routines develop social language, grace and courtesy, turn taking, and self-regulation. Gross and fine motor skills expand with movement, outdoor play, and art. Teachers observe, guide, and adjust lessons for each child, partnering closely with families. To ease separation, we offer a one- to two-week phase-in: 15 minutes of family time followed by an hour-long drop-off, increasing by about an hour each day. This gradual start builds trust, confidence, and comfort in the prepared environment. Children leave the program curious, secure, and ready for the next stage. Families feel informed and supported throughout.
